Reservations and Cancellation Policies
Due to the high number of recent, last minute cancellations, we are forced to
implement a reservation and cancellation policy.
Reservations must be secured with a deposit of 50%. Reservations made without this deposit my be lost by a paid reservation. This wont happen until:
- Original group is contacted and given an opportunity to make deposit
- The time period may be 24 hour or up to a week. This depends on the time
remaining before the scheduled date.
- After this time a deposit may be received and the unpaid reservation will
be lost.
It is not my intent to make it difficult for dive shops or dive clubs to make reservations, but I have lost several days and hundreds of dollars due to last minute boat cancellations when other groups were turned away for the same weekend.
Deposits may be made by:
- Cash (always preferred)
- Check or Money Order (reservation secured once it clears)
- Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX). This may not be an option in the
near future
Cancellations are sometimes a necessity and are understood, but again when people cancel they always have or makeup a good excuse and I am the one that eats the costs. A six-passenger charter has a small margin of profit and when even one diver cancels without making payment it hits the bottom line and often my time becomes a donation. This multiplies when the trip is out of town such as Neah
Bay and the Diamond Knot. So this is the policy:
- Cancellations outside of four weeks will receive a full refund
- Cancellations inside of four weeks will be given credit towards another
trip at 100% the deposit amount.
- Cancellations within two weeks, on out of town trips:
| a. |
Full boat reservation deposit will be lost unless
boat is rebooked for dates of reservation. If boat is rebooked then credit
will be given toward another trip at 100% of the deposit amount |
| b. |
Single spot reservation deposit on boat will be lost
unless spot is filled. If spot on boat is filled then credit will be given
toward another trip at 100% of deposit amount |
- All cancellations within one week will forfeit 100% of money paid toward
trip. This includes deposit and payments that have been paid in full.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters,
Mike Ferguson
