What to Bring:



Half Day and Full Day Trips:

  • All needed dive gear (tanks are provided on request for charters on the Mark V). Rental gear is available through local dive shops. Prior arrangements must be made.
  • Your DIVER CERTIFICATION CARD. If advanced dives are being made an advanced open water card must be present. Porthole Dive Charters recognizes solo diver certifications.
  • If you are hunting your valid Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Recreational Hunting License must be on your person. The crew will check before leaving the dock.
  • It is highly recommended that all divers have a surface signaling device (.i.e..........surface alert or surface sausage. )
  • Specialty equipment. ( flashlights, wreck reels, hunting licenses, etc. )
  • Medications for sea sickness and decongestants if needed.
  • Bag to contain dry storage that will be stowed in the forward v-birth.
  • your favorite music CD's

Neah Bay or Diamond Knot Trips:
  • All of the above plus...
  • A Surface signaling device is required for all Neah Bay and Strait of Juan de Fuca Trips.  Surface Marker Buoys and a finger spool are recommended.
  • Sea sickness medications are highly recommended. Surface conditions can be very rough.
  • A $10 Recreational use permit is required by the Makah tribe for pickup in Neah Bay. These can be purchased on the reservation at the mini-mart on the day of the trip (valid for one year).
  • Wreck reels and appropriate gasses for technical dives on the Diamond Knot.

Multiple Day Trips:
     
  • All of the above plus...
  • Photo ID, drivers license, and/or Passport if dives are in Canadian waters.
  • Overnight stuff ( toiletries, deodorant, bedding, etc. )
  • All meals, snacks, and beverage. Dive boat will provide bottled water only.

 

Hunting Trips:
  • Fishing License
  • Spear gun with extra tips and bands if required
  • Stringer or game bag
  • Fillet knife and freezer bags
  • Porthole Dive Charters will provide ice and has a fish box onboard. Please no coolers for fish storage.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING:
  • Gear bags or boxes. We will supply on boat storage containers. All equipment used on dives is asked to remain in these crates between dives. Cameras and video equipment may be stored inside the boat.
  • Large coolers. Lunch box size ok anything larger not. Private boat groups may bring one large cooler for the whole group.
  • Recreational Drugs Strictly Prohibited.
